This time I am the lazy one. The last three days are described very well in Paul’s blogpost. The facts that are most important to me will be listed here as well:
-My second, our 6th broken tire. This time a thorn from a plan that was strong enough to penetrate the carbon tire inlay. Unbelievable.
-We were invited for pick nick by Ismael. We met him and his family at a small riverside, a little paradise. Blue water in a small river that flows in a valley. It was such a surprise to us because you can only see it if you are right in front of it, like a oasis again. Ismael was picknicking there with his family. We were invited to sit with them on their carpet. We had chicken, beef, bread with tomatoes and lots of other stuff. Again, we weren’t allowed to stop eating until everything was empty. It was incredible how friendly and open this familie was to us. I have never seen so much trust in strangers, it really touched me deeply. We invited him to come visit us in berlin and hope that he will do so.
- yesterday ( 20.06.2012) we left the little paradise and drove to Turkistan. I bought the food we need and some other stuff like a sheet for my head, some spare tubes for our bikes and two horns, so we can answer the truckers horns:0).
It was a enormously hot day again and so we tried finding a place with water and shadow. After about 70 days we have developed a sixth sense for finding such places. This time it was a quite small canal with brown water but still enough to cool down after a day in the heat. This searching for water reminds me of hopping from shadow to shadow in hot sand, only in a bigger scale.
This morning a dog stole our holy butter that we had put in the water for cooling. I chased it until I got it back. The dog looked at me with a big “why” in it’s face so we left it a rest of the butter.
Now we have packed our stuff again and are ready to go.
By the way, we haven’t reached mountains yet and both get mind of impatient. Our mood is kind of stressed for we both just have enough of the flat, desert like landscape. We need change.
