Hello everyone.
I hope you all understand that i wont write a long text right now. Shanghai is huge and I am overwhelmed by its diversity. So, just a short blog post to keep you updated and summarize the last 7 month roughly.
We have had a great trip. In my eyes it was a complete success, nothing went seriously wrong and we both arrived in shanghai healthy.
A Chinese man at our point of arrival said the one and only true sentence about it that is still in my head:
“so you guys have just fulfilled you biggest dream.” And that’s exactly what e did.
And that’s what I want to thank everyone for.
To all my friends for saying that I am crazy but in the same moment that they believe I will make it.
To my family for letting us go and giving us the will to return home, I love you.
To our donators for erasing the first big barrier in our plan, the lack of financial means, and raising the believe that nothing is impossible.
To all the people we met on our way, that gave us shelter and food, warmth and help in situations when we needed it.
And last but not least to Paul, my twin brother, for all the highs and lows we have been through , all the beautiful moments we shared together, the trust that I can rely on you whenever needed.
I couldn’t have had a better companion for such an enterprise.
Now that we arrived, we will be here for 4 more days. We have changed our worn out clothes against a new set, went to the hairdresser and now enjoy a beer in our hostel room before we probably go to a nice little bar.
We will be back in Berlin on the 5th of November.
I guess a few days later the final blogpost will be published with all the details of our arrival in shanghai, the time here and the “coming home”.
