The cure

No, it not about the band ” the cure”. It’s about the three Cure-days we spent on a sandy riverbank in paradise. (

Paul is still sleeping while I am writing this blogpost. )
It was paradise because:
-No Mosquitos due to stormy winds
-Clear water in a small river where we caught fish for dinner
-The water from the river was even drinkable.
-A cool shadow place under a huge tree that made sleeping-long possible.
-Nice cowboys around that from time to time gave us some beef or drank some tee with us. Cowboys are crazy but lovely people.
-A possibility to grill the fish. We could finally make a fire again for the sandy beach was no risk of bushfire.
- showering in the river as often as we wanted to cool down.
For swimming it was not deep enough.

And that’s what we did three days: eating, drinking tea, organizing, tinkering, repairing stuff, laundry, fishing, talking, talking, talking. About what? Hm, about many things, about the planning of our tour, about women, dreams over shanghai, dreams about food, talking about extreme situations we probably will have on this tour, about many small things that can keep us busy the whole day. I have a list of ideas that I want to realize once. This list gets longer and longer on this tour. So when I come back I will be full of inspirations and can start realizing right away, hopefully.
The three days are over and I still don’t feel completely healthy again. So we decided yesterday that we make a quick stop at a shop, buy some more food and find us another paradise. And in deed, we succeeded. A green lawn at a riverside, overgrown with large trees that give shadow but still let the place look bright. It’s all the same paradisey than the other, only difference, lots of Mosquitos and sandflies. Mosquitos are actually no problem any more for us, but the sandflies are so small that they easily slip through our mosquito-net.
Tonight Paul woke me up. Our tent was full of them and we both have dozens of bites in our face and on our arms. We cleaned out the tent and had to close it wind tight so no sandflies get in any more, but no air as well. We both had a lot of garlic recently, it’s brutal how thick air can get.
Finally I may stand up, the sun is burning and a new relaxing day has started, I’ll do my best to get healthy as fast as possible.
